DIGITAL FASHION

In this section, I’ll explore my journey with digital fashion through projects I’ve created and have been involved in.

DIGITAL FASHION

As someone who has always taken an interest in Street Fashion, Digital Fashion connected with me right away. The ability to explore and experiment with different looks in a digital space was right up my alley.

Digital Fashion opened the door for me to use more 3D characters in my work. Prior to this, I strayed away from using characters as I always found them to be stiff and void of personality and character.

I found myself creating projects that felt more like fashion films

Exploring what could be achieved in Marvelous Designer, the look of my characters started to take on leading roles in my projects. I found myself creating projects that felt more like fashion films than anything else.

When showcasing a product in a 3D space, sometimes it’s not enough to simply display the product on its own.

When Nike approached WOVE (my creative studio) to create a key visual for the launch of their somewhat futuristic light-up/self-lacing shoe, The Nike Adapt Huarache, they wanted us to not just focus on the sneaker but to create an entire world the sneaker could live in. Here the environment and the fashion go hand and hand in bringing this image to life

For Adidas, it was all about the fit.

For this project we were tasked with creating a look from 2019 and one from 2049. These looks would live in a lookbook of the future to celebrate the past, present, and the future of the Ozweego silhouette.

…it was time to do what I always do: experiment.

After having numerous projects under my belt it was time to do what I always do: experiment.

I began experimenting even more, throwing away traditional seam patterns and creating even more abstracted looks. Not only was I engaged by the looks you could achieve creating clothing, but I started using Marvelous Designer more and more for its cloth simulation properties.

You can see more of this experimentation over in the Digital Art section.
