SHORTS

Often when working in CG it’s easy to get caught up on just making pretty images or focusing on the technique. To avoid falling into these habits, I strive to incorporate more narrative qualities in my work. In the shorts below you’ll find a mixture of styles, techniques, and storytelling approaches.

Shortly after Instagram introduced its carousel feature, I set out to explore this feature in a unique way. The concept of the three frame film was born. I wanted each frame to be a looping video that could tell the story at first glance but also play on infinitely.

Drawing inspiration from album art and iconic music video moments, this is my tribute to Hip Hop.
Many of the references are drawn from my youth, when Hip Hop wasn’t so readily accessible. When MTV only dedicated a 30 minutes block to Hip Hop programming. This made every music video and every album seem that much more important and in turn memorable. So much so that years later I still reference these gestures and imagery on a regular bases.
